Personalizing Distributed Learning

Applied research and development projects focusing on Personalizing Distributed Learning have been presented at the E-Learn 2002 conference, Santa Clara University, and the PEG 2003 conference. Published papers and presentations can be accessed from this page.

A research paper describing a prototype system for Personalizing Distributed Learning was presented on October 16, 2002 at E-Learn 2002 sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE).

Paper presented at E-Learn 2002 conference in Montreal, Canada, October 16, 2002:

Applying Multi-Intelligent Adaptive Hypermedia to Online Learning (paper)

Presentation of paper at E-Learn 2002 Conference:

Applying Multi-Intelligent Adaptive Hypermedia to Online Learning (presentation)

The following presentations were delivered in 2003 as part of the Faculty Development Program at Santa Clara University. The presentations and workshop were designed to help faculty members understand and learn how to apply the approach of Personalizing Distributed Learning.

Presentation delivered at Santa Clara University, January 21, 2003:

Technology-Enabled Learning (presentation)

Presentations delivered as part of a Faculty Development workshop for Santa Clara University, May 15, 2003:

Theoretical Foundation for Multi-Intelligent Technology-Enabled Learning (presentation)

Educational Methodologies and Enabling Technologies (presentation)

The Santa Clara University faculty development workshop plan, agenda, and materials can be viewed online.

The Personalizing Distributed Learning approach was used in the development of a hybrid or blended model of learning in the Master's degree program in Information Systems (MSIS program) at the University of San Francisco (USF). A paper describing the work done at USF was presented at the PEG 2003 conference.

Paper presented at XI International PEG Conference - PEG 2003: Powerful ICT (Information and Communications Technology) for Teaching and Learning, St. Petersburg, Russia, July 1, 2003:

Developing Process Skills and Content Knowledge through Multi-Intelligent Problem-Based Hybrid Learning (paper)

PEG 2003 Conference Presentation July 1, 2003:

Developing Process Skills and Content Knowledge through Multi-Intelligent Problem-Based Hybrid Learning (presentation)

Collaborative research on the development of a model for introducing e-Learning into institutions of higher education resulted in a paper presented at the International Conference on Education and Information Systems: Technologies and Applications (EISTA ´03), July 31-August 2, 2003. Selected as best paper in the session: Applications of Information & Communication Technologies in Education.
