Personalizing E-learning
My strong belief is that each individual learns in his/her own way. To enable each individual learner to succeed, I think it is critical to personalize each individual’s learning experience, so I have focused my work on developing ways to personalize e-learning. Here are some papers and workshops I’ve presented at international e-learning conferences and universities, which discuss how to personalize e-learning to help learners succeed.
Applying Multi-Intelligent Adaptive Hypermedia to Online Learning presented at E-Learn conference in Montreal, Canada
The following presentations were part of the Faculty Development Program I presented at Santa Clara University to help faculty members learn how to personalize e-learning.
- Faculty development workshop plan, agenda, and materials
- Technology-Enabled Learning (presentation)
- Theoretical Foundation for Multi-Intelligent Technology-Enabled Learning (presentation)
- Educational Methodologies and Enabling Technologies (presentation)
I used the personalizing e-learning approach in a blended learning model for courses in the University of San Francisco M.S. in Information Systems program. I presented this approach: Developing Process Skills and Content Knowledge through Multi-Intelligent Problem-Based Hybrid Learning at the XI International PEG Conference: Powerful ICT (Information and Communications Technology) for Teaching and Learning, St. Petersburg, Russia.
I presented a paper Reaching Adult Learners through the Entry Point Framework and Problem-based Learning in a Croquet-based Virtual Environment and a workshop Creating Multi-Intelligent User Experiences through Digital Media at the International Conference on Creating, Connecting and Collaborating through Computing (C5) in Kyoto, Japan.
I developed an online training program with a literacy educator for the Verizon Literacy Campus to help literacy tutors use the Theory of Multiple Intelligences to reach adult learners: Unleashing Potential through Multi-Intelligent Literacy Instruction.
I collaborated with other members of the Montreal Band e-learning collaboratory on the following papers:
- A Model for Systemic Change Management in Education presented at the International Conference on Education and Information Systems: Technologies and Applications. Selected as best paper in the session: Applications of Information & Communication Technologies in Education.
- The Online Water Cooler: Inviting Faculty into Professional Development through the Entry Point Framework presented at Ed-Media in Montreal.
